Managing Partner of OYA Solar
Manish Nayar is the founder and Managing Partner of OYA Solar. Manish has led the growth of the company and its resulting 1000MW+ North American development pipeline. Manish has developed, constructed or transacted on over 500MW of solar assets in the last 10 years. Prior to OYA, Manish was with the investment banking group at Merrill Lynch & Co. where he focused on corporate finance, M&A and restructuring of companies in the diversified industrials group.
Prior to Merrill, he was CEO of Judricks Enterprises Ltd, a global tier 1 supplier of powertrain and transmission components to the automotive and heavy equipment industries. He holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management with majors in Analytical Finance and Strategy as well as a B.E.Sc in Computer Engineering and a B.Sc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, TJ is responsible for market development, project development, formulating OYA’s strategic direction, along with creating and implementing execution plans in both new markets and existing solar markets. TJ is also actively involved in facilitating new partnerships with developers, financiers, along with mergers and acquisitions.
TJ has a wealth of experience in project development, structuring transactions, and engineering of renewable and infrastructure projects in the United States and Canada. One of TJ’s notable achievements includes receiving the Best of the Best award from the Toronto Construction Association for his involvement in the redevelopment of the Royal Conservatory of Music. TJ is a Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, and holds a Masters In Business Administration from Schulich School of Business.
Head of Origination
Greg Rossetti is an OYA Partner and Head of Origination. He has over 12 years of experience in greenfield development, design, procurement, and construction of over 200 grid connected projects including serving as Prime Subcontractor for the Samsung Grand Renewable Project (132 MWDC).
Greg has served a key role in the development of over 1000MW of utility scale projects within the northeast United States. Greg has a BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto.
General Counsel
Bernadette is a seasoned business lawyer with roughly 20 years of experience in the power sector gained in the national electricity markets groups of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and Gowling WLG. Bernadette’s experience holds particular focus in renewable power. She has acted in over 1000 MW of renewable power transactions and has advised clients in all aspects of power projects, including power purchase and development agreements, government renewable procurements, mergers and acquisitions, financings and joint ventures.
Bernadette brings tremendous industry and legal experience to OYA’s leadership team with considerable experience acting for a wide range of power sector stakeholders including independent power producers, distributors, investors, and commercial and public sector consumers. Bernadette was recently recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada 2020 for Energy Law. Bernadette holds LLB/JD degrees from the Universities of Windsor and Detroit Mercy, and an MBA from McMaster.
