OYA Solar offers subscriptions to community solar programs in New York. The following states will soon have community solar programs as well: Pennsylvania, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico and Virginia.

We have multiple active community solar projects in New York state and are currently seeking subscribers. Simply click on your county below and look for the local project near you, then sign up to the project.
We are currently developing community solar programs in the following states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico and Virginia. If you live in any of these states, contact us to be the first to hear about a project in your community.
It is simple to get started. You sign up to the community solar and continue to receive power from your utility as before. Through a system of bill credits, you will only be charged 90% of your energy costs according to your portion of the project.
Send us your utility bills for the last 12 months and we assess your energy usage. Then, we reserve for you bill credits up to 100% of your total energy usage from a project in your area. Savings are set at 10% for the length of your subscription.
Subscriptions to solar require no upfront cost from you because we take care of the community solar financing. Simply sign up to save on your energy costs.
As with other energy sectors, tax credits help keep community solar affordable. Many of the tax credits have clear endpoints – so it is important to act now and sign up.
We work with other industry leaders to support state-level bills facilitating community solar programs. Their regulations support businesses and consumers with fair and equitable community solar subscription agreements.
Community solar is the most recommended option for many businesses, non-profits and consumers – no initial outlays and no rooftop installation. For commercial entities with significant energy needs, owning a solar project or participating as the sole consumer of a project may result in more overall benefits in the long-term.

Owned system or Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): You own the solar system on your property and will see savings as soon as the system is paid off. For onsite solar, you can also sign a PPA and agree to pay a lower fixed rate for energy.
